Ennis Club Crest

Ennis Golf Club situated less than one mile from the town centre, has an immaculately manicured 18-hole parkland par 71 course. Set in rolling hills, its tree lined fairways and tight greens present a considerable challenge while its relatively even terrain and 5,600-metre length makes it ideal for family golf.

Ennis Golf Club, founded in 1907, is situated in County Clare, in the heart of Irelands scenic Mid-West, some 30 km from Clare's idyllic coastline and the famous 200m high Cliffs of Moher, and the limestone landscapes of the Burren.

Ennis GC is an immaculately manicured 18-hole, Par 70, parkland course.

It's tree lined fairways and tight greens present a considerable challenge, while it's relatively even terrain of 5600m make it an ideal course for the holiday and society golfer.

Our club is noted for it's hospitality and the members and staff extend a warm welcome to visitors and societies. We particularly welcome societies and we can offer a variety of packages to contribute to the enjoyment of your society members.

Our state of the art clubhouse opened in 1999. Overlooking the course, it has a large modern lounge bar, dining room, ladies and gents showers, visitors lockers changing rooms and a large car park.

Ennis GC is located 20 km from Shannon International Airport. Shannon is a one or two hour flight from most European cities with regular flights throughout the summer months.

The club opened its magnificent new clubhouse facilities in June 1999. Visitors from home and abroad are made welcome in the well-designed lounge and dining area, both of which provide panoramic views of the course and the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

History of Ennis

Instituted 1897 affiliated 1910
Golf was first played at Ennis in 1897. It would appear it went into decline until 1907, when it was revived again, with a membership of ninety, both men’s and ladies’ subscriptions were the same at ten shillings. It is interesting to note there were three ladies on the committee. The course measured 2,500 yards.
