Donabate Golf Course

Donabate Club Crest

Donabate Golf Club was founded in 1925 and moved to its present location four years later. Today Donabate has 27-holes and is a mature Parkland course with tree lined fairways and heavily bunkered, creating many interesting and challenging golf holes.

Donabate is the home club of Irelands most renowned and respected lady golfers. Mary McKenna is indeed a legend in her own time. Mary has achieved just about everything there is in amateur golf, she captained the victorious Irish Ladies to an, speculate win in the Home Internationals in 2003. Before that in her own playing carrier Mary played on nine Curtis Cup Teams and won 8 Irish Ladies titles to cut a long story short. It would not be inappropriate to compare Mary's contribution to Ladies Golf as J. B. Carr's contribution to the Men's game.

Donabate has recently completed its state-of-the-art, clubhouse which provides the golfer with all the, creature comforts he or she could require. The clubhouse is an magnificent design and would appear to be functional as well a factor that is often omitted in some new clubhouses. The members here have always been renowned for their friendliness to the visitors who have had the pleasure of playing their course.
